Danger signs to look out for:
These signs are mostly seen during the 3rd trimester, but the RN should teach this to the patient during the 1st trimester, because the patient may not follow up with prenatal care. Also, the patient is [normally] EXCITED about the pregnancy and is willing to learn!
- Sudden gush of vaginal fluid
- Bleeding
- Persistent vomiting
- Severe headache
- Abdominal Pain
- Increased Temperature [expecting mommy’s can not be overheated, it may cause birth defects]
- Edema
- No Fetal Movement
